Embotits Caula, S.L. produces dried-cured meat products.
Ever since it first began operating in 1942 it has faithfully observed
traditional cold meat and sausage preparation techniques that ensure
the meat retains its exceptional quality. Technological improvements
have gradually been made over the years to guarantee that our products
conserve their rich aroma and full flavour.
In 1991 the factory was refitted in line with EU regulations and the
company was among the first in Spain to be certified for intra-Community
trade. The company expanded and embarked on a modernisation programme,
doubling its production capacity in the process.
It continued to grow and five years later two new floors comprising
drying rooms and a storage facility were constructed – the most
recent additions to the factory.
Our ongoing desire to provide a range of products designed to meet
the needs of the market led to the setting up of a slicing and continuous
packaging section in 1999. This new facility allows us to provide
the customer with our ready-to-eat cold meat and sausages in either
vacuum or modified-atmosphere packaging.
Embotits Caula’s goal is to ensure that its products fully meet
the expectations of each and every customer. With this in mind our
quality management system was certified in 2001 in accordance with
the UNE EN ISO 9002:1994 Standard. In 2003 Bureau Veritas certified
that the company met the requirements set out in the UNE EN ISO 9001/2000
Standard.
The company is currently working on a project to introduce new production
management techniques. The main objective is to improve the self-checking
procedures used by factory employees at the same time as providing
performance-related incentives. The motivating of company employees
is absolutely essential as we join hands and strive towards continuous
improvement in our quest to meet the needs of an extremely competitive
market. |
